Skiing and Winter Sports

The US has ample locations skiing and other winter sports. Skiing is carried out on large scale in the country with Aspen being one of the favorites of the skiers. The country has around 750 cross-country ski areas spread out all over the country.

Alaska has over a dozen designated skiing areas, most of which are located in the Anchorage area. White Mountains National Recreation Area is also an ideal location for skiing. The area around these trails is completely snow bound and the views are breathtaking.

Vermont is one of the most renowned and picturesque ski resorts on the map that offers traditional New England charm and the biggest vertical drop in the area. Stowe's two ski areas are Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak. The latter actually backs onto Smugglers' Notch's terrain.

Vail, Colorado, deserves to be ranked amongst the world's top five all-around ski areas. As the largest single ski area in the United States, Vail offers roughly 5,300 acres of skiable, terrain.

ASPEN sits in the Roaring Fork Valley, a wide, U-shape cut of land created by glacial activity.

Massanutten is located 2,880 feet high on the windy tip of Massanutten Mountain.

Tanglewood Ski area overlooks Lake Wallenpaupack in the Pocono Mountains, The Summit at Snoqualmie: In the heart of the Washington Cascades, 52 miles east of Seattle, lies The Summit at Snoqualmie.

Deer Valley is an elegant and soothingly serene preserve.
